Heading west in Austria, we took the long route between Salzburg and Innsbruck. After my amazing experience in the Dolomites, I wanted to be sure to show Ash and the boys this magical part of Italy. We had just a couple of days, with an overnight, in the Dolomites, just enough to get a taste of the area. We hiked the marquee Tre Cime trail, visited the, maybe too famous, Lago di Braies, and spent some time in my favorite: Val di Funes. Our accommodations in Italy's northernmost spot, the Taufer Valley, was in an incredibly atmospheric and out of the way spot and just before crossing the border back into Austria, we spent a little time in the beautiful town of Vipiteno.
