It was a very long time coming -- a reunion with Bart and his family. I was lucky to join them in the French Alps for a few days of incredible hiking. I began in Geneva and Annecy on my own before we met up in Chamonix. Last time Ash and I tried to see Mont Blanc in Chamonix (about 25 years ago) we were completely rained out. This time, the weather was brilliant. The Alps may be growing by several millimeters per year but human children certainly grow faster than that. Kate and Cole are a little bigger than when I saw them last time a decade ago. Let's hope that these family reunions become an annual tradition...
