Sigulda Bike Ride

For the past three years, each time we've visited Sigulda, we've looked longingly at all the people enjoying the bike paths along the road to Turaida Castle. Lucky for us, following our trip to Scandinavia this summer, we now have bike racks for all our bikes on the car. It feels like the Baltics are now open to us for a whole new experience and we're ready to embrace it. For the first time out, we finally rode the trails in Sigulda, doing the classic 12 km. loop along both banks of the Gauja River. It was amazing and it couldn't feel better to leave the concrete of the city behind us as we drove out in the morning...

Rai is 135 Months Old !

Sounds like the right age to get into Dungeons and Dragons.  Rai has really taken to role playing. Next, he just needs to gather a crew of players...

Kotaru is 117 Months Old!

Made it and just finished putting together his first Lego Architecture set sent over by Grandma and Grandpa. Thank you!

Social Distancing - Summer in the Arctic: Lakeland

At this point in our trip, we were all a bit tired and yes, I'll say it, ready to head home. It was good to end it off with some time in Finland's Lakeland including stops in Kajaani, Koli National Park, Ilomantsi, Joensuu, Kuopio, and Tampere. A highlight along this route was Finland's largest smoke sauna at the lumberjack village in Kuopio -- what an experience!
