Although in ruins, this castle is brought back to life through the interactive activities and re-enactments that are part of the events held at the castle all day long. 5 Days in Estonia - Day 3: Lahemaa National Park

Not far from Tallinn, along Estonia's northern Baltic coast, is the oldest National Park in the Soviet Union. Using some loophole in Stalin's language, the locals were able to take advantage of his belief that parks are good for the people, thereby protecting this land and establishing the very first park in the Soviet states. Today, the park protects beautiful coastline, wetlands, an impressive variety of flora and fauna, historic villages, and grand palaces. Put simply, this park captures the essence of the entire nation and made for an amazing third day of our loop through Estonia!
