Just a few kilometers from our home in Pinki is the 18 kilometer long sandspit named Jurmala. A beautiful beach stretches the entire length and villages of different sizes hide amongst the forested interior of the spit. We've heard that this has been a terrible summer here so the first sunny day we had, we rushed out to the beach. Beautiful beach homes can be found throughout Jurmala as this spa resort was once the greatest seaside resort in all of the Russian Empire. Today, it is still the place to go on the Baltic Sea if you're a Russian tycoon. Despite all that, It's great to have the coast just minutes from our home!
