First Snow!

We woke up this morning to our first snow of the season... before November!  There's lots of +C days coming this week, including this afternoon, so this won't last but it sure was a beautiful scene to wake up to this morning!

Rai is 126 Months Old!

While traveling for our Fall break, we came across some indoor mini-golf. Naturally, the boys had to play. Turned out that this was a special treat for Rai's 126th month birthday!  And, how about following up with some Indian for dinner? It did mean waiting a record 1 hour and 34 minutes for our order but we did have little dishes and spoons to play with ...  Perfect.  Love you, Rai !

Kotaru Turns 9 Years Old!

Ko has always chosen money (ie: more Lego) over birthday parties so he has never really had a party with his friends. This year, however, at the last minute, he decided that he wanted to have some friends over for a party. Very quickly, we rounded up about 8 of his friends, got some food ready, prepared a scavenger hunt (of course!) and waited for the guests to arrive. Lots of fun was had by all and Koey, despite choosing party over money, collected plenty of Lego gifts; a win-win-win situation.

Missed Monthly Birthdays

Once again, things felt apart a little bit on our blog. Last school year ended on a very busy note. We were gone for most of the summer. Both of our home laptops finally failed. As a result, if you are one of our two worldwide followers, you may have noticed that there were large gaps with not posts and, recently, a big rush to catch things up. Here, let's catch up on one of our favorite blog traditions: the recognition of the boys' monthly birthdays.

First, while we were in Kiev this summer, Rai turned 123 months old and we celebrated with some whatever these things are called...

Then, Ko turned 106 and Rai turned 124 months old in August.

September brought Ko's 107th month and Rai's 125th...

And, October, let's see what comes our way...

Fall Colors

Our third Fall in Latvia is upon us and, following many years without true seasons, we are thoroughly enjoying the change in seasons. The colors are beautiful and the the changes help to set a clock by which to measure the passing of our lives.
