Saldus is the hometown of Latvia's most famous painter, Janis Rozentals. There is a small museum dedicated to his life and painting at his old home in town. Last time we visited, the museum was being renovated. Recently, we made another visit to see the rest of the museum, hoping to see some more of Rozental's beautiful work. We found an eclectic collection of his sketches and paintings. Nearby, a few forest hikes rounded out the day trip.
