On the fringes of Riga, along the shores of Kisezers lake lies Mezaparks, a giant forested area turned city park. It also encompasses one of the first residential areas of it's kind in all of Europe -- a planned community of large homes built right into the forest. We have plenty of forest access around us so driving all the way across to the other side of Riga for this park is a rare occurrence in our lives but, when we do get over there, it's always great!

Mezaparks
Riga City Festival
No matter the season, month, or weather, there always seems to be some festival on somewhere in Riga. Last month, we spent the day zooming from location to location in the city, enjoying the arts and entertainment that were part of the Riga City Festival. We made sure to visit a lot of the sites outside of the city center, getting a feel for some neighborhoods and art spaces that we've never been to. In the end, the more remote stops were better than those in the heart of the city. All in all, it was a wonderful day of diverse music and experiences. Looking forward to next year!
