As he does best, Jacek arrived in Belgrade with little notice and little plan.
And, just like that, we were off for a whirlwind tour of the Balkans: Sarajevo, Mostar, and Blagaj in Bosnia and Hercegovina, Durmitor National Park and the Tara River Bridge in Montenegro, then into Kosovo via the beautiful Nemuna National Park and through the historic cities of Peja and Prizren. From there we continued south into North Macedonia through Mavrovo National Park, to historic Lake Ohrid and, finally, into Greece where we visited the Vikos Gorge, the beautiful village of Metsovo, incredible Meteora. From there we headed to explore the Pelion Peninsula before continuing south to the ancient site at Delphi, with some time at the springs of Thermopylae along the way. Jacek continued on to Athens while I headed back via Mount Olympus National Park, the ancient burial site at Vergina, and Rila Monastery in Bulgaria. One last stop at Sapareva Banja for a dip in the incredible springs there before returning to Belgrade.
