The southeast frontier of Serbia, bordering Bulgaria, rises up to the ancient mountain plateau known as Stara Planina. It's a great place to go for long, mountain vistas, and small crowds. And, beyond all the great views, villages, and waterfalls, we had the chance to see the only "bald Jesus" fresco anywhere in the world !
