Our base while visiting the Istrian Peninsula was the very, very small village of Paz. As with many of the towns inland, it sits on top of a hill and offers great views in every direction. Unlike many of the other hill towns, this one is firmly off the tourist trail. We felt completely alone in our small stone house in this village -- just the way we wanted it.
