Tahoe's That Close?!

With the fire going and nothing but the sound of birds in the pines outside the cabin windows, we often forget that the big city is not too far away. The 'big city' that we're refering to is South Lake Tahoe, a place that by any other standard would be called a tiny, mountain town and it's just a short 40-minute drive from the cabin. For us, however, South Lake Tahoe is a 'big city' but that is not to say that it lacks the natural splendor we crave while at the cabin. Along Tahoe's south west corner is a stretch of parks with beach after beach after beach and nothing but the deep blue of Lake Tahoe in front and forests and snowy peaks behind. My favorite, of course, is Mt.Tallac.
