May You Always Have a Place to Rest

Our valley, Hotsprings Valley, has many spots from which panoramas of the valley, ridge, or meadow can be enjoyed. At some of the better vista points there sit benches inviting the weary hiker to take a rest. At one of our favorite spots, there is a fine bench that is made simply of a full log with a 100 degree slice cut right out of it -- a perfect seat. A metal plaque along the top of this rustic bench reads: May you always have a place to rest. Rai, this cabin is a gift from your Grandparents with this very message as its goal. Already we can see that this area is one whose siren song you will follow for many, many years to come. Another possibility, of course, is that we'll have to bear with your songs of "I don't wanna go to the mountains!" or "Are we there yet?" for countless 4 hour car rides in the coming years. We hope it's the former.
