Staying out past 6:00 p.m. Impossible. A quiet evening at home. Impossible. Getting a full night's sleep. Impossible. The ability to live life spontaneously. Impossible. It doesn't take a great deductive mind to uncover the truth. Every evening, we find ourselves at home following the same routine: entertain you, Rai, feed you, bathe you, read to you, get you to bed, hopefully get an hour or two together, get a little sleep, wake up to feed you a couple times, wake up to your babbling at 5 a.m. and repeat it all over again. Mystery solved: that's how parents spend their days.

The good times never end and still, we do occasionally get to do something a little different. Take tonight, for example. To change things up, we dressed up in our best period wear, strolled down to the neighborhood movie house and celebrated the fact that there is now a Sherlock Holmes film in the cinemas. All we had to do was show you that movie poster and stand around for a while. Good times! It doesn't take much to entertain us. What a night!

ReplyDeleteAs for the repetitive nature of a parent's social life, I don't know what advice to offer, other than finding a babysitter once in a while is just as good as laying in the fetal position and telling someone all your problems
