A Day at the Amusement Park

Rai, we've been gathering your baby supplies, clothing and furniture for about a year now. Yes, your Mom is a craigslist master so we were able to prepare your room for you, fully stocked, months and months ago. Actually, we've even considered counting your age NOT from the day that you were born but from the day that your room was ready for your arrival. Sure, it was a baby room with no baby but with the crib, changing table, diapers, blankies, stuff toys, bookshelf with childrens' books, toy chest and more sitting in there, it was almost like you were already with us. So, that would make you about 8 months old instead of your biological age of 2.5 months!
The other day, we rummaged through the inventory of supplies (we've got everything you'll need until your freshman year in high school) looking for something we know that you've been working up to: a playpen. Now that you're a little more interested in nearby objects and colorful things (as opposed to just staring at the white ceiling and white walls), we knew that you were ready for this baby-sized amusement park.
We found the wildly colorful playpen and lay you under the two arches that crisscross over the mat. The half dozen objects hanging from the arches right above your head scared you at first but once you got used to your new surroundings you began to swing your arms to see what would happen when you hit each object. At the peak of your amusement, you were a wild man with your arms and legs flailing about like crazy. That's when we realized why the playpen also came with a built in 'Mozart' soundtrack.
We flicked the switch, the Mozart came on, you calmed down. With all your energy spent, you drifted off to sleep to the sounds of the great composer and soon after, all worn out, you were fast asleep with your little friend, Sophie le Giraffe.
