In a successful effort to avoid the thousands of day-trippers to Lake Bratan's fa
mous temple on the 
lake, we spent the night at the nearby Warung Recreasi, a beautiful organic farming resort just a few hundred meters away, on the lake's shore. This allowed us to visit the temple at sunset and sunrise and have the site nearly to ourselves. The magic of this place could be lost when doing it tour bus style and visiting with hundreds of others. We're glad we got to do it this way and the boys were glad that the Warung Recreasi offered the best playground this side of the Pacific!
