Tito
Following WWII, Josip Broz Tito was the leader and main architect of the Yugoslav Republic. Tito's legacy, as that of any dictator, is mixed. Despite a history of ethnic cleansing and totalitarianism under his rule, Tito's Yugoslavia is reminisced upon in very favorable terms by many Serbs. Many speak longingly about the former Yugoslavia and regret the collapse of the republic. Today, Tito is entombed in the "House of Flowers", the site of his former residence, a visit to which is almost obligatory for any visitor to Belgrade and the attached museum has a fascinating collection of Tito's artefacts.
