Singapore Writers' Festival

Last year, we attended our first Singapore Writers' Festival. The event was so great that we knew that we had to return this year. We spent one afternoon at the event with the highlight this year being that Rai got to meet the authors of his current favorite book series: Sherlock Sam. We love the books because they are well written and local. Each one is set in one of Singapore's towns or neighborhoods giving us and Rai the chance to learn a lot more about the history and unique culture of each town. We returned from the Festival with every single one of Rai's books signed and with a good relationship with the authors. So much so, in fact, that Rai even received a personalized "get well soon" message from the authors when he was a bit sick a few weeks ago. And now, Rai is telling us that he wants to dress up as the robot Wat-son for Character Day at school. Very cool!
