3 Weeks in South East Asia - Day 12: Bangkok, New Town

How things have changed. We knew that while we spent every visit to Bangkok in the old town, that a "new town" was growing in the east. Staying in this modern part of Bangkok, we've had a taste of just how much this city has grown. And, somewhere amongst all the high rises stands the historic Jim Thompson House, a tribute to a more traditional Thai aesthetic. We didn't really realize just how this city and it's skyline has risen until we looked out across all of it from our vantage point at the Vertigo Bar on the 59th floor of the Banyan Tree Hotel. Wow.
