The highlight of this day? Meeting up with Maryalice and Devon! It's amazing how one can be anywhere in the world and set up a meeting with someone else in a specific location at a specific time and it can come to pass... flawlessly! It was wonderful to see Maryalice coming down the wooden steps of our hostel at 7:30 in the morning. Despite her and Devon having flown halfway around the world the day before and battling a complete time reversal, they were still up for a day out in Bangkok. We visited the Grand Palace and Wat Pho, then had some late lunch near Khao San. Then, the boys played in the park while Maryalice and Ash had a Thai massage and, finally, a very long boat trip on the river followed by an equally long tuk tuk ride brought us back to our hostel way out in Sukhumvit. We've been to Bangkok many times and always stayed in the old town so it is strange to be so, so far from the historic core of the city. We didn't realize just how far the new town is!
