It was all about the beach on this day. We promised the boys a day with no moving, just digging and building in the sand. Before the beach, though, we took advantage of the open air kitchen at the motel. Ko and I took a long walk into the village and had to visit three little markets just to find the combination of eggs, bread, milk, and fruits that we needed to make our own breakfast. Ash fired up the grill and made some fabulous French toast. Then, we sat under the shade of a giant casuarina tree while the boys played on the water's edge. Still, we are a restless family so, by 3 p.m., we were all ready to try something else and found out that there is a hot spring just a few kilometers from our hotel. We are glad that we decided to go as it was a beautiful spring with a wonderful legend explaining its origins. Also, it happens to be one of few natural sea water hot springs in the world and, we have to say, the salt water experience was a different one. After all that, by the time we sat down for dinner (back at Scarborough's Fish and Chips), we had completely forgotten that it was Christmas Eve. That's what travel is all about for us -- living in the moment, unaware what day of the week it is, and planning only for the next meal.
