Our long, long coastal drive in Australia has been interspersed with
short one or two day journeys inland into the mountains. The latest was
along a road known as "The Waterfall Way", a highway that travels
inland from near Coffs Harbour into the heart of New England. As the
road climbs to high altitude Armidale, it passes through some of the
best preserved rainforest in Australia in New England National Park and
Dorrigo National Park and, as the name states, lots of waterfalls! A
more urban highlight was the town of Bellingen, probably the best
example of the very kind of small town we have been searching for in
Australia. If you know us at all, there's no need to explain what that
means...
