With all the activity of our last week at the cabin, it would have been easy to forget that no-longer-so-little
Kotaru has just turned 21 months old. It happened on Friday the 13th so we held off for a few days in recognizing his monthly birthday. As we compared Ko to Rai at the same age, we were reminded just how quickly the loving, innocent and infectiously needy Ko we know right now will disappear to be replaced with an independent, free-thinking, and antagonistic boy. We can't even believe that Rai was once the boy that he was at 21 months. Not that we don't love every stage of development, but we do love Ko so much just as he is right now and it breaks our hearts already to know that sooner than later, the Ko of today will be nothing but a memory and a few photos...
