Sharing

Rai, you love dogs.
I think I've mentioned that before, one or two, or twenty times.
A recent encounter with a dog reminded us just how much you love man's best four-legged friend.
We were waiting in line for ice-cream at Bi-Rite when a black poodle came along. You ran for it immediately, trying your best to poke its eyes out and pull its tail. You were unsuccessful on both counts. The dog, however, did have some success in licking your face and hands. Then, it began to sniff at the container of apple puffs that you were holding. Seeing that the dog was interested, you pulled out one puff and offered it to the dog. She gladly accepted. You offered another. She took that one too. This continued for a good ten minutes. As you cleared out your snack container, the crowd around us 'oohed' and 'aaahhed' at the sheer cuteness of the performance: you sharing the entirety of your snack with the poodle.
Wow, it's amazing to see you share like that at your young age. You're a great sharer, Rai. Or are you? Later that week we went out for some Indian food at Chat Cafe. There, I watched as my mango lassi disappeared right in front of my eyes. You had gotten your hands on it and couldn't get enough. Share was not a word in your vocabulary at that moment. Maybe if I grew a tail and two other legs you'd share some more with me.
