Here in The City, grass is a luxury. Very few homes have grassy front
and back yards. Actually, very few homes have front yards at all and back yards are often paved or elaborately landscaped. The expansive, perfectly mowed and green lawns that I grew up with in Winnipeg, Rai, are a real commodity here in San Francisco.
However, just because grass can't be found our front or back door doesn't mean we don't have access to it. There is plenty of green space in San Francisco and a lot of that park space boasts well-kept lawns. Over the months, you've become a big fan of grass. Having fallen on both
the sidewalk and the grass, you definitely prefer the green stuff. The bigger draw for you, however, is that grass usually means wildlife in the form of dogs, birds, insects, and geese and what would your life be without your daily attack on some defenseless animal?
