A short ride from our place, somewhere near the regional capital of Tukums is a well-preserved country manor from the German era. Slokenbaka has a grand entrance gate and expansive courtyard. By chance, they were having their annual harvest festival on the day of our visit. The food at the krogs (pub) was the best krogs food that we've yet had in Latvia. We will be back. And, the great thing about Latvia? The beach is never far away!
