Marupite Creek Trail

Way back when we were still in Singapore but planning for our move to Latvia and, when searching for a place to live, we considered living in the neighborhoods of Agenskalns and Tornakalns, the historic wooden neighborhoods on the west bank of the  Daugava River. A bit further west, across the highway, the neighborhood of Bierini which fades into the town of Marupe, also had some apartments that we were looking at. When researching those, I remember finding the Marupite Creek trail which follows this tiny creek from these "suburbs" towards the heart of the city. I remember thinking, that would be a great trail to use in order to bike into the city. Now, years later, we finally decided to check out the Marupite Creek Trail. We walked it the other day and were very pleasantly surprised by the beauty and diversity of the trail in terms of nature, art, and neighborhoods. It was a beautiful walk!
