Our fourth autumn in Latvia and we've just gone out to forage for mushrooms for the first time. It's hard to believe that we've not participated in this national pastime yet. I guess we were afraid of picking the wrong mushrooms and, potentially, poisoning ourselves. Luckily, a friend from work stepped in and took us for a forest mushroom walk early one morning. We returned home with a bag of wild mushrooms, ready for boiling and preparing.
