Your Mom took a couple days off so you had afternoons with Mom instead of Grandma and Grandpa. Change is tough sometimes, but this one wasn't.
When I came home, your Mom could summarize your afternoons together in a few activities: "We played at home, had bath time, story time, ate lunch and went
to the playground." My response: "Oh, that sounds like a great hour. What did you do for the rest of the day?" Your Mom gave me a puzzled look. "What do you mean? That was the entire day. We were at the playground for 3 hours!"Three hours! This may not be a good time to tell you, Rai, that
recess in elementary school might only be 15 or 20 minutes long. Hopefully by then, you'll bring your daily playground time requirement down to a more manageable 1 hour or less.
After 37 years as a playground director your grandmother couldn't be more pleased that you, Rai, are so comfortable at the playground. She loves taking you there, and you love being there. You're happy to be with the children, the parents and the nannies. Maybe by the time school starts for you that recess time will be extended a little. Or maybe you need to tell your parents to start searching for a school next to a playground. And when you make your case, you could even throw in the, "all work and no play....." argument. It's worth a shot.
