Months ago, Ash watched a great video story on BBC about the secret trolls of Copenhagen. This wonderfully inspirational story about recycling, culture, adventure, and creativity stayed with us so that when it came time to plan for our trip to Denmark, we knew that we could not miss finding some of these trolls. Our planning led us to the beautiful, online Troll Map from which we discovered that there are more trolls lurking in secret spots throughout Denmark than we had imagined. I drew my own rough "treasure map", noted all the GPS co-ordinates, and we were off. Hunting trolls became a nearly daily part of our two weeks in Denmark and, obviously, a highlight of our time there. We found most of Denmark's trolls (we found 20 of 23) and now have set our sights even further: there are more of Thomas Dambo's trolls in China, Korea, the U.S. and even Puerto Rico! And so begins a lifetime of troll hunting and, if all works out, we may even build one on our land plot in Latvia...
