Geylang and Joo Chiat

One of the most historic and lively areas in Singapore is known as Geylang. Notorious for it's red-light district, it is, more importantly, the cultural heart of the Malay community with lots of color and flavor all around in the buildings and storefronts. Not far from Geyland is Joo Chiat, which is an extension of this neighborhood and known throughout Singapore as perhaps the best neighborhood in which to eat. One evening, Rai, Ko and I took a little trip down to Geyland and Joo Chiat to check out this cultural hub. We didn't get any food this time so, inevitably, we will be back!
