Fear of Snow: Conquered!

For nearly 10 consecutive snowy visits to the cabin, Rai has been deathly afraid of snow. There was now logical explanation for it. He never slipped and fell in snow. He never suffered through the chill of a winter blizzard. Actually, come to think of it, he had never even touched snow with his hands or feet. So, like many childhood fears, this fear was completely illogical and, as a result, frustrating for us. We had tons of cute hats, snowpants, boots and snowsuits all ready for our winter visits to the cabin. All went unused.
So, it is with great joy and pride that we can finally announce that Rai has overcome his irrational fear of the snow. In December, he walked in the snow. And, during this visit, he walked and slid in the little snow that remains by the cabin without comment nor complaint. In fact, he enjoyed it! Naturally, I've started planning all the father and son snowboarding, sledding, and snow hiking we'll be doing. Unfortunately, all that aforementioned snow gear is now too small. I frowned as Ashe rifled through it and piled most of it into one giant stack labelled: Goodwill.
