Saw Mill Creek Trail

Sometimes, things are better the second time you try them. This was the case with the Saw Mill Creek Trail, the lesser-known trail in Grover Hotsprings State Park. Like most visitors to the Park, we always hiked the Falls Trail with Hotsprings Falls as the desired destination. Who wants to see Saw Mill Creek if you can see the Falls, right? Wrong.
We decided to give the Saw Mill Creek a closer look during our final days at the cabin and discovered that an easy crossing of Saw Mill Creek took us to the south side of Hotsprings Creek with a much, much better view of Hotspring Falls than from the Falls Trail on the north side. The fallen tree we used to cross the creek may be new this season so that may explain why each of the three times we walked this trail, we were completely alone while the Falls Trail had dozens of hikers on it. This is one secret we'll keep to ourselves.
