Winter in San Francisco

Winter is here, Rai.
In San Francisco, that usually means slightly cooler weather and some rain.
This year, however, it seems to be abnormally cold. That shock of cold as we get out from under the blankets in the morning, or from that first step on the icy cold floor reminds me of winter in Winnipeg. The other day, we had to scrape frost from the windshield of the car before leaving for work.
You've noticed it too. Your room, which is normally the coldest room in the apartment, is now even colder. Sleeping without a hat on is no longer an option and when we take that double layer of pajamas off of you in the morning, your face takes on a wide-eyed look of horror as warmth turns to cold.
So, Rai, when your Mom tells you what she told me before I moved to S.F., you should nod your head in agreement but know in your heart that it's not quite true. What did she tell me? "San Francisco has mild weather. It's always the same temperature here!"
