Alpine County Museum

All this time in Markleeville and we've never visited the County Museum. We've been on the grounds many times but, with its limited hours, have never been inside the buildings. Last week, we were lucky to drive up the hill on an afternoon when it was open. The original log jail and old schoolhouse sit on the hill, as well as a larger building with lots of interpretive displays. Outside, a collection of old machines dot the yard. Even the old outhouse is something to see. For such a small town and tiny county, it is a very impressive museum!
