Two Windmills are Better Than One

At that ocean end of Golden Gate Park stands the Dutch Windmill. It's beautiful. It's authentic. Sailed across the Atlantic in pieces from Holland itself. We loved seeing that windmill from our deck at the old home, the Balboa home. We loved seeing that windmill when we went for walks in Sutro Park.
Now that we're in the Presidio, we're a bit snobby about heading back into the Richmond. Why go to Ocean Beach when we've got Baker Beach here, right? Right. Why go to Sutro Park when we're surrounded by the forests of the Presidio? Well, we did go to Sutro Park last week and immediately noticed that the view has changed. What?! Two windmills?! Yes, two windmills. At the other ocean corner of the park there is now another giant windmill. A construction sign has sat at the base of the windmill for years. Staring at the intact foundation, I always wondered when the rebuilding project would begin. Apparently, it has begun and is almost complete and it all happened very quickly! So, now we have two windmills in San Francisco! What's not to like about that?
