Unexpected Week at the Cabin

Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring Break and the summer holidays are givens when considering our visits to the cabin throughout the year so it's a wonderful surprise for us to have a week here during this time of year.
The Chinese New Year is always a holiday in our District and, this year, a furlough day was tagged on to make it a 4-day weekend. And, since Tuesday and Wednesday was State Testing for 10th graders (most of my students are 10th graders), it was easy to justify taking a day off on Monday and making a week holiday of it!
So, here we are, back in Markleeville and super relaxed. Maybe one day soon quantum physics will have an explanation for us about why our bodies relax so much when we remove ourselves from the energy of the city and Ashe and I agree that one of the best things about being out here is that Rai makes all our dinners.
