A Good Place for Train Lovers

The more we learn about this area, the more we realize that it is the place for someone who loves trains as much as Rai does. The legacy of many decades of mining in this part of Nevada has left plenty of 19th century towns and a relics of a fantastic rail system.
We just found out that a great rail connection still exists between Carson City and historic Virginia City. A full-sized steam locomotive pulls ancient passenger cars along this route several times daily all summer long. We will definitely be on that train once summer arrives! For now, we had to settle for the Northern Nevada Railway Museum from which the rail journey begins. The museum was closed, but there was still plenty to see outside.
