A Place for Kotaru

Rai, when you were just a few weeks old, you found spot you liked best in our home, and claimed it as your own. That spot was the corner of the couch, right by the window. Lying in the middle of a donut-shaped pillow, you would spend hours there, content simply to stare at the apartment to your right or our the window to your left.
Kotaru, you've had a tougher time finding comfort anywhere but in your Mom's arms. Until just days ago, laying you down somewhere on your own was an impossibility. Something has changed. You can now sleep on your own and we can now leave you somewhere without worrying about you crying moments later. So, it was only natural that we introduce you to Rai's old spot at the end of the couch. Seeing you lay there in that spot. smiling and cooing happily today was a very happy moment for us. You've found a spot from which to gaze out at the world. It may not be the best window in our place for sunset viewing, but it's a start.
