Strawberry Hill

In my opinion, one of the least known of San Francisco's forty-something hills is Strawberry Hill in Golden Gate Park. Unlike most of the city's hills which can't be missed with streets sloped steeply up the hillsides, Strawberry Hill is hidden from view, completely enclosed within the canopy of trees that is Golden Gate Park.
From a distance and from the right angle, Strawberry Hill can be seen as a slight bump in green treetops of the Park. Somewhere under this bump is the top of this great hill which rises above beautiful Stow Lake below and, a few days ago, somewhere under those treetops we were, the four of us, out for a walk along the lake shore.
We try to get to Stow Lake as often as possible. You love all the trees and paths, the water, the ducks, and the geese. In fact, you couldn't get enough of the ducks the other day. As a result, we were reminded that even the simplest task can take hours with a toddler. Our short walk lasted a couple hours as you found something to distract and slow you at every turn. You're certainly giving us lessons in how to enjoy the moment -- thanks for that, Rai!
