Looking at you and seeing how much you've grown and changed already, we couldn't believe that you were now the same weight that you had been at birth. Wait a minute, that means that you, as you are today, were inside your mother's womb just two weeks ago! For us, it's incredible to think that this boy with all his limbs and movements was inside Ashe's belly not too long ago. Wow!
Now, we've got to celebrate every milestone we can because we also found out some of your percentile figures that same day and they don't give us much cause for celebration. Well, my boy, I've got to be frank with you: you are in the 8th percentile for weight and height. For a father who settles for little less than 95th percentile or above in anything, this is a bit hard to swallow. Just kidding!
Having heard all those parents with their, "My son is in the 90th percentile for his age..." and "my daughter is this and that..." we've decided to celebrate low percentiles! Flipping things around, you're a champion in your own right! You've got pretty much every baby in your age range beat. You're as tiny and precious as they get! And who cares about size -- tiny infants are so much cuter than butterball babies anyway!
I think Rai's perfect no matter what his percentile! With the love and nourishment you guys are giving him, he'll grow to be strong inside and out--even if it takes a little time. =)
ReplyDeleteEthan has been in the bottom 5% since he was born. He's happy and healthy, so I'm not worried!
ReplyDeleteRai looks perfect, so celebrate his uniqueness and desire not to conform to others! lol
