Day 13 of Life: Loved by Everyone

Rai, you are a magnet. Baby lovers everywhere have converged on us and showered you with love and affection from every direction. We've been overwhelmed by the support and help that have come our way in these first two weeks of your life.
Of course that love has come from familiar places, but we've been surprised to find it coming from perfect strangers too. A month ago, a friend that Ashe hasn't seen for almost two decades attended your baby shower and brought several ponchos and a handful of super cute hats that she had knit herself! Then, the nursing staff at the hospital treated you like one of their own. And, on my first day back at work, I found a tiny sweater waiting for me at school. The sweater was knit by the mother of a fellow teacher at the school, a teacher that I've barely spoken to. Wow!
It seems that that is the reason there are babies in the world; to bring out so much love in everyone and remind us all just how important human connections are.
These surprise gifts are not to take away from all the other gifts you have received. In the photo, a very cute little bunny hand-made by your Auntie Kate and in your closet hundreds of tiny outfits you will soon grow into. Thank you everyone!
