Winter Holiday 2024 - Balkan Circuit: The Albanian Riviera

Returning from Corfu to Belgrade, we passed through Albania again. This time, we followed the coast, beginning with the Albanian Riviera in the south. This wild and still, relatively, undeveloped coastline has emerged as a cheaper, more off the beaten path alternative to Greece. We followed the Riviera from Ksamil to Vlore, then had a day in Tirana, Albania's interesting and colorful capital where the Bunk'Art Museum gave us a window into Albania's difficult history under Enver Hoxha. Kruja connected us to Albania's older, traditional past and one night in Montenegro gave us a break during the long drive home.
