 During our first year in Serbia, the country experienced it's fourth mass shooting event of the 21st century, the first in Belgrade and the first where the perpetrator was a child. A 13-year old at a well-known and prestigious school in central Belgrade killed nine students and one security guard, injuring several others. This led to a long period of national mourning. Visiting the school site was a moving experience.
