The Jacek of Markleeville

Thirteen years ago, while partaking in "The Japan Year", I meet Jacek, another foreigner working in Japan. Naturally, as Jacek was from Poland, we bonded. That was the beginning of many, many adventures across the many islands of Japan together. Perhaps more than anyone else, Jacek explored Japan from north to south with me. While traveling, we met with him in Poland, and he later met us in Prague and Istanbul and, a few years ago, he even lived with us for a month or two in San Francisco. The adventures continue. Jacek joined us in Markleeville for 3 days at the cabin together. More than the beautiful setting, the hot springs, Lake Tahoe and the mountains, Jacek was impressed with how perfectly Rai pronounces his name.
