West Point Inn

A few months ago, we discovered the historic West Point Inn on the slopes of Mt.Tamalpais. That very night, I got online and booked us a night at the inn. It is that amazing of a place. Last night was that night and we had an incredible afternoon, evening, and morning at West Point. We relaxed in the parlor, enjoyed all the early 20th century decor and the lack of electricity. It's incredible what a 2-mile hike with no drive in access does to make one feel off the grid. Gas lamps gave us light and kept us warm and falling asleep under the stars with not a sound to be heard in the foggy forest was perfect. And, a 6:00 a.m. misty sunrise from near the top of Mt.Tam? It was a magical experience. Will we be back? It's a not a question of if, but when. I'm already on the reservation site looking for our next night...
