Pets
The boys, and our hearts, have been asking for a family pet for a long, long time. Our hesitation has always been the amount of travel that we do and the fact that we will have to move again in two years. Our solution was the most simple of pets: a hamster. Lenny joined our family about a year ago and we loved that little guy. Then, a few weeks ago, while working in the garden, we put him outside in his hamster ball. At one point, while looking for him, we found his hamster ball, behind the shed, with the lid knocked off and laying beside the empty ball. That was the end of Lenny in our lives. A week later, we had Flash, a tiny, grey hamster who sped around like the superhero that was his namesake. Just a few days after arriving in our home, he lay, motionless, dying of some unknown illness. Fast forward several more weeks and Luna was here to visit. She made herself at home in our teepee and, seeing her there, we couldn't help but think that a dog would be quite nice...
