Tiny Druskininkai has been a natural healing center for two centuries. The spring here brings up mineral rich waters that have made this an important wellness hub in a real crossroads of nations location. Of course, with the boys, we couldn't enjoy one of the fancier spas so we ended up in the town waterpark. The saunas there gave us what we need while the boys stuck to the waterslides. Nearby Gruto Park contains an amazing collection of Soviet era statues brought in from all over Lithuania following independence in the '90s. Heading back to Riga, we took a country road route passing through the important pilgrimage site at Siluva and the beautiful monastery at Tytuvenai.
