Trip to Winnipeg - Day 10: Fort Gibraltar

This was the day for a little bit of Winnipeg history. We enjoyed a fantastic interpretive tour of Fort Gibraltar, a reconstruction of the 1809 Northwest Company fort built at the meeting of the Red and Assiniboine Rivers. Walking from building to building, we learned the history of the fur trade in Canada from stories told to us by the carpenter, the blacksmith, the broker, a Voyageur, and others. In the evening, we spent time with other historic Winnipeggers: Babcia and Dziadek.
