Hall of Science, we ended up higher up the hill than we'd ever been before and the Berkeley, Bay and San Francisco views were amazing! In fact (if you count the new Bay Bridge currently under construction), we could see four bridges! Not only that, from the cafe where we ate portabella sandwiches and cream of mushroom soup, we could 
also see the Farallon Islands way off in the distance, almost 40 miles away. These islands are typically tough to see from Ocean Beach in the city, but we could clearly see them from way out here in the East Bay.
Marveling at the view, it was hard to get ourselves out of the cafe and back to the labs and classrooms at the Hall of Science where all the wild mushrooms were on display. Mycologists from far and wide had
come out to display all the diversity of wild mushrooms that can be found across California. We even got to see the famed "Death Cap", California's only killer mushroom. Apparently, just 20 grams is enough to cause liver failure in the 
average adult! We keep our consumption down to 10 grams (just to be sure) and Rai and Ko got a mere 2 grams each.Not to be missed, of course, was the table displaying pyschoactive mushrooms. We've heard that great aerial view of the Bay we mentioned above is even better after ingesting a few of those. We'll save those for another year. All in all, it was a great day. Rai used his first microscope, we touched killer mushrooms, and we saw a lady dressed in animal pelts. What could be better?
